Handmade Clothes Drying Rack – NZ Totara Timber

This handcrafted indoor clothes drying rack is made in our New Zealand (Northland) workshop using native Totara timber and NZ pine (Dowls). Strong, compact, and designed to last a lifetime, it’s a functional and beautiful solution for everyday laundry needs.

Features:

• Solid & Durable – Totara frame (30mm x 22–24mm thick) with M8 bolt fastenings
• Improved Airflow – 16mm pine dowels for faster drying
• Folds Flat – Only 47mm thick when folded for easy storage
• Comfortable Working Height – 900mm tall for convenient use
• Multi-Use – Can be leaned against a wall for drying small loads
• Built-in Hanger Holes – Perfect for sock hangers or coat hangers

Materials:

• Base Frame: Native NZ Totara, finished with Osmo TopOil for protection and durability
• Top Frame & Dowels: Untreated NZ pine in Dowls, frame sides in native Totara – light in color, won’t stain clothes
  • Note: The pine components are bare wood to allow breathability and faster drying.
  • To keep them in good condition, allow the rack to dry out fully between uses.
  • If mold or marks develop from moisture, they can be lightly sanded back to restore the clean look.

Care Instructions:

• For indoor use only
• Allow full drying between uses to prevent mold on pine dowels
• Do not leave damp or exposed to the weather
